Teratech Case Study Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1000 words
Teratech - Case Study Example The first provider to tap these advance resources would gain a bigger share in the market, lead the CRM service industry and have the first market entrant advantage. In the first quarter of 2005, Teratech aimed to go beyond the basic CRM functions and venture into modeling and analytics. The growth opportunities in predictive modeling and analytical CRM software is very big for the five-year-old company. Grabbing this opportunity would give a strategic advantage to Teratech, since the company is considered as a CRM expert for the pharmaceutical industry. According to Teratech's CEO, Jack Dwyer, developing a new analytical CRM product would assure the stakeholders continued sales and revenue growths as well as market leadership in the industry, while compensating the declining sales in the last quarter of the previous year. The new product is one of his corporate strategies for continued success of the organization. He is looking forward to an exceptional business performance of the company for three years. Jack Dwyer is a self-made man, who worked his way up to become a respected CIO in his previous job before he founded Teratech. He is a successful man with a 20-year experience in a leading technology service firm and a bold vision for Teratech's future. His vision for Teratech is to become the preferred solutions provider for pharmaceutical companies and the forerunner in the industry. This is the ideal end-state goal of Teratech. With the development of a new analytical software, Teratech's customers can identify trends, understand customer behavior, explore simulated scenarios and predict outcomes. This software would complete the company's CRM package of product functionality and analytical capability. The package is very marketable and salable to loyal customers as well as new recruits, as shown by the optimism of the sales team members. This would enhance the company's competitiveness in the market. The existing products and the development of a new analytical application software would answer to the vision of the CEO and help the company achieve its goal. However, development of a new product does not end on the salespeople. New product development is a company wide operation. It also involves other teams such as marketing, finance, human resource, and technology development teams. The marketing team is optimistic that the new product would answer the customer's concerns on the current product and return on their investment. The relatively new concept of CRM in pharmaceuticals and pharmacy-related industries is still at its infancy stage and the customers are still uncertain on its applicability. The development of the new product would assure the customers of its added benefit. The pharmaceutical companies would be able to maximize the value of their customer and market data as well as enhance their marketing strategy for optimum effectiveness. In the ultra-competitive environment of the pharmaceutical industry, the new product can address both the effectiveness and efficiency of their marketing campaigns. The success of the new product in the market would boost Teratech's expertise and market image, such that, the marketing team are challenged to cater new industries and access new technologies. Finding new markets or even creating a new one would be a blue ocean strategy for the team. Furthermore, Christine

Blacks in the Revolutionary War Essay Example for Free
Blacks in the Revolutionary War Essay Blacks in the Revolutionary War1 Blacks in the Revolutionary War African American Studies Latasha Gating September 20, 2012 LaChanda K. Clemons Blacks in the Revolutionary War2 Looking back at the history of the United States, it is evident that the Revolutionary War impacted the country a great deal. It was the first war fought with slaves thanks to Lord Dunmoreââ¬â¢s controversial proclamation. Historian Benjamin Quarles stated ââ¬Å"The Negros role in the Revolutionary War can be best understood by realizing his major loyalty was not to a place nor to a people but to a principle. There were black loyalists, black sailors, black patriots and black regiments who fought and died in the name of Independence. It has been estimated that over 5,000 African Americans served as soldiers for the Continental army and more than 20,000 fought for the British cause. Slavery in Colonial America is noted to have begun in 1619 with the arrival of 20 African slaves on the Dutch ship named Man-of-war. The slaves made up over half the population in the colonies although they were seen more so as property instead of people. In 1776, there were about 500,000 African American men, women and children slaves. Everyone had a reason for taking part in the war. There were factors that motivated the blacks to take part in such a battle as well. The text mentions that when it came to fighting between the Patriots on one side and their Loyalist American allies on the other, African Americans joined the side that offered freedom. Having that choice of gaining freedom in exchange for serving in the military was indeed motivation. Other motives for blacks were the Blacks in the Revolutionary War3 desire for adventure, belief in the justice and the goals of the revolution and the possibility of receiving a bounty. The Continental navy and The Royal Navy signed blacks into the navy because of the manpower shortages at sea. Some blacks had been captured from the royal navy and used by the Patriots on their vessels. They also served as seamen on British vessel. Slaves and free slaves served as seaman. Because so many Patriot leaders resisted employing black troops, by mid-1775, the British had taken the initiative in recruiting African Americans. Revolutionary leaders feared using blacks in the arm forces. They were afraid that the slaves who were armed would uprise against them. In May 1775 the Massachusetts Committee of Safety put a stop to enlisting slaves in the armies of the colony. However, this did not apply to the blacks who were already serving in the army. 1775-1783 the navy recruits freed black slaves and runaway slaves. Lord Dunmore, born John Murray, was the last Royal Governor of Virginia. Because he was short of men, Dunmore issued a proclamation stating that all able bodied men to assist him in the defense of the colony, including the slaves of rebels. He promised freedom to the blacks who served. After doing so in a month he had 800 soldiers. The purpose of his Proclamation was to declare martial law and to encourage slaves of rebels in Virginia to leave their masters and support the loyalist cause ââ¬Å"All indentured servants, Negroes, or othersâ⬠¦free that are able Blacks in the Revolutionary War4 and willing to bear armsâ⬠¦Ã¢â¬ Such an act outrage Virginians. Those that took Dunmore up on his word range between 800 and 2,000. The Virginia Congress replied to his Proclamation with the Dunmoreââ¬â¢s wasnââ¬â¢t as successful as his plan out, the number of his soldiers decreased due to smallpox outbreaks. Dunmoreââ¬â¢s Proclamation was the first mass emancipation of slaves in American history. After the war ended, over 5,000 blacks left for Jamaica or St. Augustine because they were the property of loyalist that they would never gain their freedom from slavery. By 1786, many were back in bondage. There were those who were Patriotsââ¬â¢ slaves but sided with the British were promised their freedom and was granted such. Many black patriots found that the post war military held no rewards for them. So many men served in the armed forces which meant that their wives were left behind and had to take on their husband roles. Their lives changed a great deal during the Revolutionary War. The women, who could, serve the Colonial military forces and interacted with the male soldiers in camp. They were usually the wives and daughters of the male soldiers. The cooked, did laundry and cared for those that were sick. There also some who fought in the military battles: Margaret Cochran Corbin and Captain Molly. Molloyââ¬â¢s husband had taught her how to load and fire cannons. Black women, many of whom were slaves, served both Americans and the British in the capacity of nurses, laundresses and cooks. Blacks in the Revolutionary War5 Many African American soldiers fought and died for the sake of the Revolutionary War. The war ended in 1783, slavery was dying in the North and declining in Chesapeake. What was truly the purpose of Blacks fighting if they did not attain freedom at the end of the war? Were the lives lost beneficially to the slaves or was it just a gimmick to get blacks to stand in stops where white soldiers have already died in. Multiple Intelligences Essay -- essays papers
Multiple Intelligences Thought out our lives, we are faced with many different learning experiences. Some of these experiences have made a better impact than others. This can be attributed to everyoneââ¬â¢s different multiple intelligences or learning styles. A persons learning style is the method though which they gain information about their environment. As a teacher, it is our responsibility to know these styles, so we can reach each of our students and use all of the necessary methods. Howard Gardner, a professor at Harvard, introduced his theory of multiple intelligences in 1983. Multiple intelligenceââ¬â¢s is a theory about the brain that says human beings are born with single intelligence that cannot be changed, and is measurable by a psychologist. Gardner believes that there are eight different intelligences in humans. The eight are verbal linguistic, visual spatial, bodily kinesthetic, mathematical logic, musical, intrapersonal, interpersonal, and naturalist. Understanding these intelligenceââ¬â¢s will help us to design our classroom and curriculum in a way that will appeal to all of our students. We might also be able to curve discipline problems by reaching a student in a different way. One that will make more sense to them and more enjoyable. We can include all of the intelligences in lessons to accommodate all of the studentsââ¬â¢ different learning styles at once. By reaching each students intelligence we can assume that a student will perform b etter which, could mean students retaining more important information. A students learning style can also help lead them into a more appropriate career direction. As a teacher you can also learn your own personal learning style or intelligence to help improve the way you learn and teach. Gardnerââ¬â¢s first intelligence is verbal-linguistics. A linguistic learner thinks in words. This person uses language to express and understand meaning. These learners pay attention to words and often express themselves through writing. Verbal linguists are skilled readers and speaking I one of their most important strengths. The traditional curriculum usually appeals best to this type of learners. Art is an area were verbal linguist excel because they are able to express their ideas on paper. The students who learn best visually are visual spatial learners. These students usually sit towards the front of a classroom. We rely ... ...are the observers. They enjoy field trips and activities that involve nature, such as insect or leaf collections. Home economic activities may also be good for the naturalist. There are several ways in which a teacher can accommodate every learning style by doing simple things in the classroom. Examples of this would be a certain seating arrangement or even just changing all the time to reach each students style. Knowing and learning styles might be one of the most important things to learn from your students at the beginning of each school year. There are several tests out there that can help with this, but know each style is also important. Knowing your own learning intelligence as a teacher will also help you and is important. This allows you to know in which way you will best be able to absorb information that is important in our teaching. Multiple intelligences are a vital part of any teacherââ¬â¢s lesson plans and are especially necessary in the ever-changing diversities of the schools. Learning styles will bring out the strengths and weaknesses. Works Cited Gardner, Howard. Frames of Mind. New York: Basic Books, 1988 Santrock, John. Child Development. McGraw-Hill, 1998

Longer School Days Essay -- Education School Teaching Essays
Longer School Days Schools are so much a part of our society, so the accurate length of school days is extremely important. Public opinions on the length of the school days are different. There are a lot of parents and professors concerned that it is hard for children to go to school early in the morning and stay there the whole day. On the other side, some professors try to force students into a nine hour school day. Not so many years ago, school was a main part of my life, and the school daysââ¬â¢ structure and length affected my social life and ability to study. From my own experience and some studies that I have seen, students benefit if school days are long. Lengthened school days help to create a supportive environment for studying. After school, it is difficult for children to concentrate on homework. Many childrenââ¬â¢s homes are too crowded, and they are usually distracted by parents, friends, TV, or games. There are many other interesting things that they can do out of school, so students forget about what their teachers told them to study. Also, parents cannot help too much with their homework and only waste childrenââ¬â¢s time or give incorrect answers. My father tried to help me with a math course. I could not understand his explanations, because he was not a professional tutor. Finally, he confused me even more, and I had to make an appointment with my math teacher. In contrast, if children do their homework in school, there are fewer people and objects that distract their attention. Teachers and other hardworking students offer encouragement. At school, children have access to tutors and teacherââ¬â¢s aids. There is always somebody who can help to complete their homework and answer questions. ... ...e adults get an opportunity to find full-time work. In this case, the tax base could increase, and welfare obligations could decrease. Most importantly, students would get better knowledge that they would be able to apply in the future. There are many opinions and studies about reforming school days. Some people are concerned that longer school days would bring more difficulties. However, there are numerous studies and practical examples that prove that we improve studentsââ¬â¢ performance by lengthening school days. Finally, the economy and our society will benefit from expanding school days. Local and National Provision for Hockey Essay
Sportââ¬â¢s a big part of todayââ¬â¢s society, with hockey featuring highly. This is mainly due to the popularity of the sport within secondary schools and the national curriculum. With about 1150 hockey clubs in England, a National Governing Body (NGB) essentially organises the countryââ¬â¢s hockey. England Hockey replaced the England Hockey Association (2002). It coordinates involvement and development with nationally run competitions and leagues. Much workââ¬â¢s also pumped into developing the foundations for future hockey: the young players of today. With high profile names involved in local schemes such as ââ¬ËSlazenger Stick Skillsââ¬â¢, youngsters are encouraged to participate with rewards e.g. badges and certificates. The National Lottery helps develop all levels of hockey with funding via Sport England. Itââ¬â¢s also in conjunction with the Youth Sports Trust and the Central Council for Physical Recreation. Through funding, Regional schemes such as Active Sports Talent Camps exist to develop the regions county and talented players. Lucazade often get involved with these local to territorial ââ¬Ëstepping stonesââ¬â¢. Locally, clubs such as Bradford and Halifax Hockey Club also exist and have junior teams to involve younger, future players. Local area teams like Calderdale compete against others, such as Wakefield, in developmental tournaments such as the Millennium Youth Games. This type of basic introductory competition promotes basic principals of hockey: fun whilst gaining experience and skill. Clubs receive private sponsors to fund kit, but main funding comes from the players i.e. hiring the pitch is paid for by subs. Some clubs may organise fund raising events such as ââ¬Ëbag-packsââ¬â¢ at supermarkets. Sponsorship at national level is more serious with England Hockey leading the way in developing its image with investors such as Harrods and high status associations such as Great Britain Olympic Hockey and World Class Hockey. Hockeyââ¬â¢s usually introduced at secondary school as part of the National PE Curriculum, but younger players may be introduced to junior sections of clubs through siblings etc. As a traditional sport thatââ¬â¢s stereotyped for females (especially school level) private schools emphasise itsââ¬â¢ importance by being in conjunction with local clubs to provide pathways for progression e.g. Bradford Girls Grammar School and Bradford Hockey Club. By regular club training and competition, a player may develop and be entered for local schemes/trials e.g. representing Kirklees in the West Yorkshire Youth Games. This can lead to scouting for county trials. Through higher standards of training and competition, development may continue and progression to a territorial level e.g. North England. Opportunities through trials and training weekends are provided and thus, following the pattern, international trials and competition. As seen by the diagram the different stages become more demanding with less players meeting the higher standards and progressing upwards. Thereââ¬â¢s ranging competition at all levels e.g. school- u12, to u18 and clubs varying from u11 up to numerous open age teams. Currently in England hockey is not a professional and therefore technically paid sport as it is in various other countries such as Holland. There is no provision for this level but with an increase of water based pitches and the senior menââ¬â¢s and womenââ¬â¢s English hockey Leaguesââ¬â¢ continuously improving standards of competition, the international scene is well established and provided for. By playing in the Senior National League a player has reached the top level of competition before international level, and thus it often leads to opportunities to trials for these highly developed players. There are however both male and female international competitions via club tournaments, and representative events for the England teams such as the Olympics, World and European Championships. Aside from the other agencies mentioned in connection with England Hockey the school link programme PESSCL partner the NGB to re-enforce participation in the education zone. They work together to implement it within secondary schools, but as yet there is no such scheme for primary schools such as ââ¬ËHigh 5 Netballââ¬â¢. This information is generally based on female participants but many clubs have male teams that are involved in national, regional and sub divisions. E.g. Sheffield has long standing, devoted menââ¬â¢s teams. Equality exists with popular, yet more social as most players are initially committed to gender specific teams. However colleges such as Greenhead provide for mixed team players and participate in regular competition. Although more profiled as a ââ¬Ëfemale sportââ¬â¢ the National Menââ¬â¢s league has a higher status through more media and sponsorship coverage than the womenââ¬â¢s league with early sponsors like ââ¬Ëà ¯Ã ¿Ã ½ Stretcher and much more consistent media coverage from Sky Sports.ââ¬â¢ Although sparse, Zone Hockey is a full flowing scheme that provides access to hockey for the disabled. It can be played on an equal level with able bodied players and is simply and adapted version of the original. It was developed between Nottingham Trent University, the Youth Sport Trust and England Hockey. Itââ¬â¢s widely supported by associations such as the British Wheelchair Sports Foundation. A 5-a-side game that is fully adaptable to different playing surfaces and wheelchairs, that provides all boys and girls with a high scoring, fast moving, fun game. However there is no involvement at an elite level such as at the Paralympics due to its sparse global popularity and no record of an international English representative side Evaluating the situation of Hockey within England, itââ¬â¢s fair to say thereââ¬â¢s a solid structure that can still be built on. Equality exists within the sport to the extent of mixed teams, of which most major sports in England do not provide for at senior level e.g. soccer. Also disabled access exists and is strong in many parts of the country but not to the extent of international competition. However, without professionalism, Hockey lacks funding that marketing, TV coverage rights, ticket sales etc. could provide. Fantastic facilities become ever more prominent (e.g. water based pitches), there is surely a gap waiting to be filled that would provide more access and opportunity locally and nationally including disabled athletes. This is certainly an aspect to consider for improvement and standard of the sport for all.

The Blind Side Essays
The Blind Side Essays The Blind Side Paper The Blind Side Paper The OTOH)/s provided Michael not only with a home and a kind loving family, but as well as a tutor to help him get he grades he needed to become eligible for the NCAA Divisions athletic scholarship (Hancock, 2009). Brotherlinesss study on the Ecological Theory says that the Microsystems is interpersonal relationships that are experienced by the person in a person-to-person setting where they interact with the individual on a daily basis (Frontbencher, IS. , 1997, p. 39). In this movie the 2 main contexts that help shape Michaels development through the rest of his adolescents is his adoptive family and his teachers and coach at school. These two contexts mix into the category, which Frontbencher considered he Microsystems as they in relation to Michael, shape the other as Michaels education improved greatly due to the support form his adoptive family. In Kathy Winters study she measured the levels which students motivation was involved with the teachers dimensions (Went, K. , 2002, p. 290). In relation to The Blind Side, Michaels teacher Mrs.. Smith was the only one who first felt the need that she could help Michael understand the material and excel better in school. She was the teacher who had gotten the majority of the teachers on board with the way she found that Michael was best able to empowered the material learned in class and which method turned out best when testing him on it. Ecological Theory The Ecological Theory is Erie Brotherlinesss view on adolescent development that focuses on the ways our social settings interact to help direct out development (McMahon Thompson, 201 5, p. 30). The Ecological Theory is made up of 5 systems, the Microsystems, Microsystems, ecosystem, Microsystems and the chronometers (Clemson, 2014, September, 9). The Microsystems is made up of individuals immediate settings; meaning their family, school, peer group, and workplace. This system has the most influence on an adolescent when growing up, as theyre the people and things that they interact with face to face, on a regular basis (Frontbencher, IS. , 1 997, p. 39). The Microsystems is the link between contexts in the Microsystems (Frontbencher, U. , 1 997, p 40) and as said before, in this movie the link is Michaels family and his schooling. A study done by Epstein (AAA, 1 Bibb) was conducted on the developmental outcome of communication between parents and teachers. It had been found that the effects of family and school ere larger than those concerning socioeconomic status or the race of students (Frontbencher, U. , 1997, p. 40). Michaels adoptive mother, Leigh Anne Tooth seen Michael walking down the road out in the cold one night, and insisted that he come stay at her house if he had no other place to go. She took charge in his life once he developed into the family instead of becoming just a guest in their home. She had bought Mike new clothes that he liked, as in the scene where theyre in a store Mike had shopped in before she told him pick out whatever you think youll wear and Ill buy it. When Mrs.. Tooth found out that Mike scored in the 98th percentile in protective instincts she figured it would be a good idea to get Michael into football to help channel his skill. When Michael finally understood the game, and big league coaches were scouting Michael, Mrs.. Tooth took it into her own hands to get Michael a tuition tutor to help him get the GAP he needed to get into the colleges that he could play in. The way Michael looked on life was greatly influenced by his mother Denies Oer. When shed shoot up some form of drug when he was a child, shed tell him to close his eyes so he wouldnt tenets it. After she was finished shed count to 3 and tell Michael to open his eyes and tell him the past is gone, the world is a good place and its all going to be okay. this later cam into play when Michael got into a fight with the leader of the tough guys from Hurt Village, and Michael got up and left the scene before anything escalated. Sean Junior Tooth (S. J. ) is the biggest factor in Michaels development as he was the one person who looked up to Michael the most. From day one before Michael was even brought into the Tooth home, S. J. Was friendly to Michael when no one else was. On one of Mikes first days of school, he approached two little girls on the playground to just say hi to them and they ran off scared by him. S. J. Came over to Mike and told him that Smile at me, it lets them know youre their friend. When the Typhus took Michael in, S. J. Took to Michael right away treating him like he was the big brother that he never had. When Mike was tying to understand the game of football, S. J. Was the one who took the time to make him understand it and helped him train outside of football practices, encouraging Mike every step of he way, making it fun for the two of them. Teachers Expectations of Students In the school aspect of Michaels life, it became the one thing he striver for. Without school, he wouldnt be able to enjoy the football career he later succeeded. The help of Michaels future Coach, Coach Cotton, is what got him into Winning Christian School; he had shown great interest in Michaels athletic abilities. From there on once he was accepted into the school, none of the teachers really seemed interested in helping Michael with the materials they were teaching they all assumed he was a lost cause. In the study done by Kathy Went, she focused on many issues that were regarding colonization skills and school-related adjustment. Went hypothesized that students would identify the extent to which teachers interests in what they were teaching would help motivate students and their adjustment to school. The models that Went used for this study were subject matter and communicate aspects of control, maturity demands, democratic communication, and nurture (Went, K. R. , 2002, p. 289). The findings in this study were that teachers, just like parents can be characterized with the colonization context in which they build for their students. Went also found that in the middle school classes, few students had described their teachers ad a friend or as a close relationship with them. But most of the students could recognize their teachers behave in the way that they care and can give personal support to the students. These positive outlook on teachers from the students, engaged them to have more interest in activities done in class (Went, K. R. , 2002, p. 297). Regarding this study, Mrs.. Smith who was he teacher that first realized that Michael is actually learning things, went about testing Michael in a different way that the rest of the students were tested. She gave Michael the tests orally and discovered that he was actually learning the materials. Once she shared this information with the other teachers they themselves become on board and helped Michael in the way that benefited him. With this encouragement and interest in Michael he himself excelled more to the best of his ability. When Michael was scouted for professional football teams, the Typhus realized he needed to come up room a 1. 6 GAP to a 2. 5 GAP and the only way they thought this was possible was to get Michael a private tuition tutor, Miss Sue. Miss Sue has such an interest in Michael as he had the potential to play for her own team, who was the same as the Touchy, Ole Miss. She spent hours working with Michael to help him bring his grades up to standard to be eligible to win the NCAA Divisions at hletic scholarship. Conclusion Michael was reformed when he entered the Tooth family; he had a completely different lifestyle than the one he had always known. His major influences were his family (Tooth family) and his schooling (Winning Christian School) and these both fall into the Microsystems form Brotherlinesss Ecological Theory. Both of these contexts are in the Microsystems because they both are interactions that Michael had to come face to face with everyday and generally what the whole movie was about. Without his family Michael wouldnt have had the opportunities that he had when he was brought into the Tooth family as they helped push him to shape himself. Along with this are the teachers from Winning Christian School, especially Mrs.. Smith who helped Michael learn and understand the materials in a different way that the teachers taught in school. Together, both of these contexts then fall into the Microsystems of the theory as they both link together in Michaels life, influencing the other. Without Michaels enrolment at the school, he more than likely wouldnt have met the Tooth family and without the Tooth family Michael wouldnt have found the encouragement to play football and excel his grades in school to make him into something. The teachers influence on Michael was incredible, as well as his help from Miss. Sue. The teachers focused on ways to help Michael understand what they were teaching in school and without this interest in Michael, he himself wouldnt have been encouraged to learn or even want to continue with school as he had no understand of any of it with no previous knowledge as every public school he attended the teachers failed him to pass him off to somebody else. With the encouragement from his teachers Michaels grades bumped up from Ads and Ifs to Cos and higher. As well as Michaels time with Miss. Sue who tutored Michael his last year in high school to dramatically ring his GAP from a low standard to what it needed to be to be able to achieve a scholarship. She showed great interest in Michael as when he was about to give up hope on himself, she jumped in and gave him more hope. When it came to write a final paper that would determine his final GAP she put all of her interest in Michael by helping him choose a topic that he himself was interested in and knew he could write beautifully. In relation to The Blind Side, Michael fit into Freeborn nerds Theory exceptionally well as he is the perfect example of both the Microsystems and the Microsystems at work. Without his interactions between the contexts describe, Michaels life wouldnt have went any where, as no one would accept him.

The Exxon Valdex Story essays
The Exxon Valdex Story essays How to assess blame in such a horrible and heinous tragedy as the Exxon Valdez crash is not an easy task. There are multiple recipients and no one will ever really agree. It isnt much of a stretch to say that there will never really be a right or wrong answer as to who is the most responsible-there are many different opinions. I think that the one thing people can agree on, though, is that blame is well beyond warranted. The margin for human error didnt seem very big when the ship set out that night-this was a run that had been done over and over again, the captain was well experienced and traffic control was watching them on radar. Yet, as the story slowly unraveled, the viewer slowly learned that all was not as it seemed. That small margin suddenly seemed huge, and the catastrophe that occurred as a result of it only proved it. The one person whom I am sure deserves top blame in this situation, is the captain of the ship. Joseph Hazelwood was well beyond the legal blood alcohol limit while piloting the tanker. He was given multiple warnings by a shipmate that the ship was coming closer to shore every minute and something should be done. Nothing was. As the viewer later found out, Mr. Hazelwood had a long history of alcohol abuse and was checked in to a rehab center several years prior to the incident. Why, then, did Exxon continue to let him work there? His drinking history was a known fact and no one tried to cover it up before the crash happened. This man should have been nowhere near a boat that day, let alone a boat carrying millions of gallons of oil in Prince William Sound. This man had plenty of chances to steer back on course and get out of the shallow area, but by the time he came out of his drunken stupor to actually look at where they were, it was too late to do any good. This brings me to the people whom I think more than fit to carry the second most amount of blame: Exxon. Why did the...
